Confusion over high-pressure hydraulics brand names can lead to hazards
While awareness campaigns and training have made it possible to distinguish original CEJN couplings from fake ones, a new challenge has emerged. One competitor’s product names and codes are so similar to CEJN’s that it is very difficult for consumers to tell them apart. This can lead to dangerous situations where products, which have not been designed to work together, are combined or used in parallel.
Original CEJN products ensure safety
CEJN has more than 40 years of experience in developing and manufacturing high-pressure hydraulic products . This guarantees our customers get reliable and safe products. In our industry, there are no international standards defining the compatibility of products, which makes CEJN components a key standard. This means that even if there are couplings on the market that appear to be compatible, combining them with CEJN products can be dangerous. If products from different manufacturers are used together, the system may start leaking or couplings may disconnect, possibly resulting in serious personal injury or property damage.
How to identify an original CEJN product
All CEJN products are visibly labelled so that they can be identified. Before using the product, make sure that both the coupling and the nipple are marked with the CEJN logo. If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact your local dealer. If you don’t see the label, the product is probably a copy.
Another essential detail is the alert ring, which visually indicates whether the connection is correct. If the red ring is visible, the coupling is not fully connected.
