Pneumacon imports Deprag’s screwdriving automation solutions, which can be used to set up assembly lines or screwdriving cells to meet nearly any need in assembly industries.
The versatile range includes solutions for everything from woodworking and machine shops to the most demanding small electronics assembly lines.
1 Screw feeding systems
It all starts with selecting the right screw feeding system. Pneumacon’s range includes screw feeding systems with three different mechanisms. These systems are suitable for screws, threaded pins, dowels, and many other components.
Vibratory bowl feeder
+ This is the simplest, most affordable, and by far the most widely used solution, where screws are transported from the spiral bowl to the separator via a high-frequency vibratory motor.
+ Option for an integrated cleaner that vacuums dust and debris shaken off screws, improving technical cleanliness.
– Vibrations can dislodge surface materials like coatings or metal shavings from screws, and cleanliness may not meet the high standards required for electronics assembly without the cleaner.
Sword feeder
+ Offers better technical cleanliness compared to vibratory systems: screws are lifted from the bottom of the screw container by a rail and then distributed forward.
+ No vibration—particularly suitable for screws that require gentle handling, for example due to a painted or polished head.
– Not suitable for particularly long screws.
– Slower cycle times compared to vibratory bowl feeders.
Step feeder
2 Screwdriving units
The screwdriving unit is the heart of any screwdriving system. Pneumacon supplies Screwdriver Function Modules (SFM) for all kinds of assembly industry needs. All our units include depth sensors and, if needed, custom feeding components. Standard models are suitable for horizontal or vertical screwdriving. Specialized models are available for upward screwdriving.
In addition to traditional screwdriving units, Pneumacon offers alternative options, such as vacuum-assisted units, enabling screwdriving in exceptionally tight spaces that other solutions can’t reach.
Pneumatic cylinder
+ A cost-effective, simple, and well-established solution suitable for all industrial sectors.
– Movement speed and force cannot be adjusted separately for different phases of the screwdriving process.
Electric servo cylinder
+ Provides flexible control over movements, speeds, and forces during the screwdriving process.
+ Greater control, such as reducing force when the bit meets the screw head, reduces component wear and enhances technical cleanliness. Optimized movements at different stages save time.
– More expensive than conventional solutions.
3 Screwdrivers
The screwdriver is the component that generates the rotational motion for driving screws. Pneumacon offers a wide variety of options, with torque ranges from very small to several hundred newton-meters.
Pneumatic screwdriver
+ A conventional pneumatic screwdriver with a fixed rotation speed and a mechanical, precisely adjustable torque clutch.
+ A robust, simple, and easy-to-maintain device, perfect for woodworking shops and machine shops.
– No data is available from the screwdriving process.
Electric screwdriver
+ Similar to the pneumatic screwdriver, with a fixed rotation speed and a mechanical clutch for precise torque adjustment.
+ A reliable basic tool for a variety of screwdriving tasks.
– No data is available from the screwdriving process.
Electronic programmable screwdriver
+ Both Deprag models (Minimat-ED and Minimat-EC) allow full programming of the screwdriving process, including speed, angle, and torque, in any combination.
+ Records all process data, with Minimat-EC providing visual data as well.
+ Ideal for electronics manufacturing and other industrial environments where precision and process data are critical.
Programmable electric servo screwdriver
+ Deprag’s Minimat-EC Servo series offers the most precise screwdrivers, featuring a built-in torque sensor for unmatched accuracy and reliability when needed most.
+ Tolerance windows and extensive process data recording ensure the screwdriving process meets exact specifications.
– A more expensive option, often unnecessary for most applications.
